  1. The colour of that rose is sublime Amy - you've some pretty blooms this week.

    1. That rose was entirely an impulse purchase as I've not had much success with minis in the past. But this one seems as sturdy as many full-size varieties, and such a perfect shade of red... Thanks so much, Angie :)

  2. Beautiful photographs Amy, that Star of Bethlehem looks positively exotic, though not as much as those teasing hints of Cistanthe flowers.

    1. Thank you, Janet! I do love the effect the Star of Bethlehem has in the garden - and I only planted six bulbs...! As for the Cistanthe, exotic is a good word for it! The first flower has finally opened so hopefully it will get a post all to itself soon :)

  3. Gorgeous photos as always. I've still no blooms on my Cistanthe - I must find them a location with more sun!

    1. Today's was the very first of mine, Kris. But it does seem made for maximum sunlight! Thank you :)

  4. super images! I love salvia - I grow a purple variety, the name I can't now remember, but must look out for 'Autumn Moon'.

    1. "Autumn Moon" has been such a wonderful variety; the red I have shown occasionally - "Flame" - is still a weak grower... But in general I'm finding that Salvias are a good place to look for drought-tolerant plants.

    1. Isn't it..! It's like the classic Valentine's red rose, only in miniature... :)

    1. Thanks so much, Matt! That rose is a real winner, having already recovered from an early bout with spider mites, and now putting out blooms like this :)
