Tonight's post is necessarily short as it is quite late here. This tray is certainly outside my usual range, but I had only a little time this evening to make up anything for the Monday Vase meme. So I used a couple of young pomegranates fresh off the tree and simply laid them on a low silver tray.
Daylight was nearly gone when I finished the arrangement, so please pardon the quality (or otherwise) of the photographs!
Leaves, stems, fruit, and a tray...
As you may know from yesterday's post, many of my plants have paused in blooming, leaving me carefully eyeing the overall design of the garden. The pomegranate tree, however, is well-supplied with fruit this year - much better than last. So I let it provide the material for this week's "vase" to join with Cathy in the Monday Vase meme.
Happy Monday (and now Tuesday)!

I like that display, thinking outside the 'vase', well done!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, GH! Perhaps the need for speed inspired a little extra creativity...

Many thanks, my friend!!!
DeleteA beautiful display and how lucky to have fresh poms!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Donna - glad you enjoyed it! Still waiting for edible fruit ;-) but they're fun even just for decorative purposes...
DeleteA masterful still life. I like this so much! I've been thinking of adding a pomegranate tree. Are they fussy to grow?
ReplyDeleteThis one has been almost embarrassingly easy :) Given our 7.5 inch annual rainfall, I have to water it occasionally, and I should give more thought to pruning since this one is growing more as a shrub than a tree. Not a bit fussy though! And spring bloom alone is spectacular!
DeleteThe pomegranates make beautiful subjects, Amy!
ReplyDeleteTotally, Kris :) I'll have to try using them again sometime...
DeleteThank you so much for sharing this Amy, showing us all how attractive a simple out-of-the-box idea can be. Those 7.5 inches of rain must be very special...
ReplyDeleteI'll have to try using fruit again sometime, I think! We're starting to see a chance of rain in the weather forecast; it has its drawbacks, but the garden will be happy, I'm sure ;-) Thanks, Cathy!
