I would have to say that I think roses are a miracle ;-) I can't believe that they handle the climate better than some plants I was so sure would do well...!
I think it's the low, low humidity here... I used to lose the battle with black spot every year in the Midwest! Spider mites are, of course, causing some trouble; but a good hose down works wonders so far ;-)
I know I've said it before but your roses are remarkable! Any bloom in such intense heat is a minor miracle but a rose!
