Rose "Crown Princess Margareta"...
...and the foliage of Convolvulus cneorum...
One rose and some of the Lagerstroemia were cut very short so I used them in a low, unglazed stoneware dish that I made some years ago. I filled it with rock from the yard to provide support for the stems. Since the rim curves inward strongly, the rocks do not show; but the flowers stayed in place nicely despite the nipped off stems.
As always, I'm linking this post to Cathy's meme at Rambling in the Garden, where many more late summer vases can be enjoyed!
Happy Monday!

A big thank you, dear Aggeliki!! This one was perfect to photograph if I do say it... ;-) Will be glad to see you again!! Kisses :)
DeleteThis is so beautiful from the roses to that foliage...
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Donna :)
DeleteOh my, so beautiful! The first and last are my favorites. The background is wonderful ... how did you do it?
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed it, Hollis! The background is simply art paper (the kind used for drawing or pastels) from Hobby Lobby; I have several green to grey shades of it for photography. It gives a nice matte surface with a range of colours available. It works much better than fabric unless I get it wet... ;-)
DeleteThanks, Amy, I will look for that type of paper. I have a light box. thanks to Amanda (Quiet Walker), I think I could simply insert the sheets as needed.
DeleteIt all combines beautifully, Amy!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Kris! I was so happy to find I had enough to combine today :)
DeleteWhat a sweet little vase - and I have so enjoyed seeing your Crown Princess Margareta in different vases. She is so pretty - and presumably reliable too in your climate. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteThis was a particularly fun vase to do. Thanks so much, Cathy :) Crown Princess Margareta has been remarkably reliable here, rarely without a bloom of some sort and now sending up some nice clusters while most of the other roses are still half asleep.
DeleteIt is really beautiful, the colors are combined with a great taste, it is the perfect vase to the house of a painter ... or an artist like you :)
ReplyDeleteA big hug Amy.
So very kind of you, Belén :D I was so happy to find I could use these colors together - all blooming at once! Lots of hugs!!
