One fun feature of gardening in Arizona is access to a plenitude of Mexican pottery, from simple clay pots to ornate maiolicas to a wide array of whimsies like this one...
It was purchased to hold a young Opuntia (Prickly Pear cactus), but that just didn't quite look right, so this Echeveria went in instead!

We're just loving this little fellow, Belén! Yes, I think he's quite well designed for his task. It's a good thing we can buy these since our kiln is too small to allow me to make anything this size...!

DeleteSo late to comment, but the goat is wonderful! (I love Mexican pottery, and really need to plan a pottery-buying dash across the border. I'm planning a swing through Arizona next summer and may look for some then.)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry I missed your comment for... what, four months :/ We love Mexican pottery and live just down the road (AZ style, which means twenty minutes or so) from a pottery supplier, though a fair number come into Lowe's and Home Depot here too. Phoenix is a good place to shop for them... The goat remains a top favorite!
