Thank you, Hollis! It was one of those times where I couldn't tell which focus point would be best, so had to shoot with different ones and find out what worked when I saw the pics on the screen!
Ha ha, Brian! I'm getting a different perspective on that these days, I must admit! This one does rather less damage than most of my roses, since the spines are actually pretty pliable.
Thanks so much, Kate! I guess I actually feel that way about this particular cactus; the spines are fairly flexible (in fact, they emit a vibratory hum if one rubs a finger down the side of it), and they don't seem to represent much of a threat ;-)
