Our lovely Anna's hummingbirds have returned to the garden for the cooler months.

  1. I wonder if this would interest you - from FB - a project for our sunbirds and sugarbirds. Planting gardens at local schools with nectar to help the sunbirds cross habitat fragmented by an exploding city.

    1. A fascinating idea, Diana - and one which makes a lot of sense, I think. I have wondered even how our hummingbirds make the trip from Arizona to coastal California every year... there is so little vegetation in much of the intervening countryside. But apparently your sunbirds are not naturally migratory?
