A small garden in the English style, set in the wilds of the northern Sonora Desert...
Oh that penstemon is dark!
It turns a delicious dark purple with cooler weather, then on through spring bloom. Summer colour is a paler silver-green, but still attractive. I think this one could be grown just for the foliage!
It feels more like summer here, Amy! I love the Eremophila.
It's really warming up here too, Kris! E. "Valentine" is a wonderful plant, with its nearly azalea-pink flowers that take full sun... ;-)
What lovely colors! I love the penstemon - such a gorgeous dark color. Your photography is stunning and shows your lovely plants off so beautifully.- Kate
Thank you so much, Kate! I love that penstemon; the foliage is spectacular, isn't it? And watching it and the eremophila prepare to bloom is quickly becoming one of the highlights of spring for me :)
