Today's vase is a simple collection of snippets from the garden.
Rose "Wollerton Old Hall"...
...foliage of Lavender "Goodwin's Creek Gray"...
...flowers of Hamelia patens...
...and Cuphea ignea "Vermillionaire"...
...are combined in my handthrown stoneware vase.
What with the combination of Hamelia and roses, this represents an enjoyable seasonal overlap between summer and autumn.

ReplyDeleteThat's just a fantastic rose, I think :) It gets more shade than any of my others, but it also gets less water. And I think it's heading for 6 ft tall now...

It's a tropical that has apparently been moving gradually into gardens across the mild winter areas of the US - making friends as it goes since it is really a wonderful plant! It's so strange to realize how many plant types have only been introduced here in the last 25 years or so, and new ones coming in just now...!
DeleteOops - I missed this. Sorry Amy - I am usually so diligent about following up IOVOM! The lavender and hamelia are a great combination with their similar appearance and I always like to see that particular rose of yours - a most successful vase all round, despite its simplicity
